Are you aged 21-25?

At St John’s we believe everyone is created uniquely and has their own God-given gifts and character. We are inviting you to spend a year developing and shaping those gifts and learning more of what God might be calling you to do and to be. Whoever you are, we’d love to invite you to prayerfully consider joining us for a transformational year, learning to see the power of Jesus realised in your everyday life. 

During this year you will grow through a mix of teaching, practical ministry experience and spiritual formation. You will be pushed to unearth and develop the character and giftings God has placed within you.

(In exceptional circumstances we will consider applications from people younger than 21.)

LOVE JESUS | BUILD COMMUNITY | TRANSFORM LIVES

At the centre of everything we do is our desire to Love Jesus, Build Community and Transform lives. We long to see our world transformed by the power of Jesus’ name. We are dedicated to discipleship, the journey of personal and leadership development and the deepening of our spiritual lives as followers of Christ. We want to equip you to usher in the Kingdom of God in your spheres of influence as you leave this year. There is no automatic expectation that you will continue in church ministry as we want to equip you for all walks of life.

 

WHAT WILL THE YEAR LOOK LIKE?

Our Internship Programme is a fantastic opportunity to come and experience life as part of our team as you explore your gifts, grow in your walk with Jesus and serve the mission of the church. Each intern will have the opportunity to serve in a specific area of church ministry as well as get a sense of the broad range of ministries within the life of the church.

LEARN

You will have the unique opportunity to be part of HTB’s Leadership Development Year and join their interns on Mondays at HTB for teaching and fellowship. This will also include a retreat during the year and attendance at Focus, the Leadership Conference and Renaissance.

SERVE

You will be part of our staff team and attend our regular staff meeting on a Tuesday morning. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in one ministry area: mission & evangelism / operations / rising generations / worship. You will also be part of the team leading and serving at our Sunday Services

GROW

We believe that growth happens best in community so there will be a dedicated time during the week for you to hang out as a cohort as you journey through the year, chatting things through, challenging each other and praying for each other. Each intern will have a dedicated mentor.

FAQs

What are the dates?

Sept 2024 to July 2025.

What days will I work?

You will be at HTB as part of their Leadership Development Year on Mondays and then with St John’s on Tuesdays and Sundays and one other day dependent on the ministry area you choose.

Do I get paid?

You will be paid £11.44 per hour and will generally work a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.

How much does it cost?

We will pay 50% of HTB’s Leadership Development Year on Mondays and you will be expected to pay the other 50%. The total cost last year was £900 but this is still to be confirmed.

Do you provide accommodation?

We won’t be able to provide accommodation.
